I agree. No one is accountable for their mistakes except the appraiser. LETS STRIKE!

Realtors are mostly lazy about reporting accurate property data, however, with interior photos and accurate assessor data, sloppy broker data can be worked around. What is really shocking is that in Cook County, where property records for Chicago and its suburbs are maintained, gross living area / square footage is not included in the public records for condominiums. An appraiser can spend hours perusing old real estate listings looking for the occasional broker who took the time to measure a similar property in the complex and note the GLA.

If rates dip? Not going to happen. Rates will stay in the 6-8 range for at least a decade. I was lucky that my appraisal career coincided with the historic low-rate period.

Sounds like just another reason to find human appraiser elimination. Interestingly, it’s perfectly in line with fear mongering that of course drives change.

Music to their ears. Their master plan is working. I, myself, retired after 40 years of battling the never ending assault on my profession. Until there is unity, nothing will change. Alas, the opportunities have dissapeared and it may be too late anyway.

You forgot the federal reserve and fractional lending argument though. Ignoring the moral hazard of the banking structure, does not excuse the banking structures failures. Where did the excess money that caused the bubble come from in the first place?
