Seeding something irrelevant like a poorly spelled word, extra character here or there, a varied font, that's o.k.. Providing the user base with fictitious listings and data is not o.k. Hello! We're trying to put together credible valuation opinions here. It's absolutely improper for an MLS service to ever purposefully put out a data point fictitiously, if the appraiser and salespersons may be relying or using that data in their normal business. The article fails to challenge the concept that letting appraisers deal with fictitious data is also an unethical action, in itself. There has to be a better way to enforce copyright issues, than to flood pay to use member data systems with unreliable data. How wide spread is this problem?
