It does not matter which amc you work with, either you believe and support the concept that appraisers need this separation from lending and the help of telecom middle management clerks, or you do not believe and support that concept.

Look within for the answers. Don’t let anyone else be your guide. Do what is best for yourself.

You cannot. Only those actual out of pocket expenses related to it. IE; data fees etc. You cant write off ‘time’ for lost revenue never collected.

BREA will not get involved in collection issues at all. I’d file a complaint with the lender and ask where your money is. Did they pay him? Good luck to you.

MOST AMCs collect direct from the borrower BEFORE they ever assign the order to an appraiser. There may be exceptions, but most get their money up front. There is NO legitimate reason they do not pay appraisers the full fee due PRIOR to the appraiser going out on the appointment. None.

There’s no way for them to recover at this point and probably no reason to as they’ve most likely lost their customers and all of their suppliers. I can’t think of any reason why anyone would ever trust them again.

I don’t think they ever intended on paying appraisers, and the not going out of business quote was just to hold off the appraisers so that employees could be paid first with whatever money is left.

I’m sure these were all great causes, and every appraiser in the country should be proud that their stolen AMC split fees went toward perhaps a positive effort, BUT as the appraiser was long ago given the shaft and disrespected, it was only a matter of time before it bit them in the ass.

Is there established tables for surety bonds? It does not seem logical that a company whom can at any time, be tasked with millions of dollars of payments, would have surety bonds that low.

It appears that one state set an unusually low bond level, and everyone else just followed without any analysis…

Now I’m getting a slew of calls from collection agencies, trying to get me to sign up with them. Word is getting around…

Are they serious? Anyone here have E&O insurance that low?
