The first step for all appraisers defrauded by amc’s, now and in the future, should be that their first letter is to the state regulatory offices, demanding an exponential cost and coverage increase pertaining to amc bonds and surety.

Received the following email from CT dept of Consumer Protection:

Notice

As an appraisal credential holder in Connecticut, you are receiving this correspondence regarding COESTER VMS.COM INC. (CT AMC.141).
On or about December 31, 2018 COESTER VMS.COM INC. (also known as CoesterVMS) informed the Department of Consumer Protection that it is experiencing severe financial problems and is not accepting new orders for appraisals.
Please weigh all options prior to accepting any new Connecticut appraisal assignments from this company. In the event you have accepted a recent Connecticut assignment from COESTER VMS.COM INC., and have not been paid within the required 45 day statutory time period, you may file a complaint with the Department. Email your complaint and any supporting documents to me at: Linda.Kieft-Robitaille@ct.gov. Be sure to provide a list of the relevant assignment(s) an include: the file number, property address, lender, amount owed, and date submitted to COESTER VMS.COM INC., along with any correspondence you may have had with them. Every effort will be made to address any outstanding Connecticut complaints.

AMCs were required to renew their registration by December 31, 2018. You may verify an AMC’s status or download a roster of active AMCs on our e-license website at : https://www.elicense.ct.gov. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Agreed. It’s a stretch to think that appraisers foolish enough to work with amc’s in the first place would be well equipped to stand against them in the end.

And why aren’t Appraisers across the country who are holding bad checks, checks that were never honored, returned for insufficient funds, etc etc not filing criminal charges for Coester knowingly writing a bad check ??

Maryland issued a judgment lien for unpaid taxes of $43,000 in November. This blog covered his criminal activities, his engagements in fraud, his lies, Skapinetz case against him, the child abuse & domestic violence cases, etc. My question is why would any appraiser continue to work and be associated with this criminal? Good luck getting paid!

Thanks for the update Dave. On a side note, there is work in CA and I would like to say its for peanuts, but it appears you no longer get the nut but rather only get a grain of salt. Check this out!

This Pacific Ocean fronting house was on the market for $11,800,000 last year, and they offer $340 with a 5 day turn time. I dare anyone to disclose a more blatantly insulting appraisal offer. Just think of the theft involved if the borrower is paying 2, 3, 4, or $10,000.

Coester’s website is down. I wouldn’t count on anyone getting paid! I was told he filed for bankruptcy.
