To date, I have never run across any distributor whom has adopted distribution approaches like the VA. Perhaps we should revisit the idea of a national clearinghouse for appraisal services. Where distributors of the appraisal requests could not pick and choose favorites like they do now. The VA puts the customer first. Everyone else, buyer beware.

Revisit the IVPI? What ever happened to the complaint hotline anyways?

The coach, strikes again!

Good one.

Initially, I signed up with every amc out there.

It's a shame they did not adopt symbiotic processes, or I'd still be working for them today.

The VA is just about the most sought after mortgage lending client available to appraisers. If only these other guys would take notes...

It comes down to initial engagements and policies. Truth be told, the lenders should be taking notes, and demanding more amc's operated like the VA panel.

Two Serious Questions:

I. Why would you spend years trying to gain approval to be a VA appraiser?

II.
Why are you still appraising...period? There are scores of better paying careers out there that tied to the ups and downs of interest rates and that do not require you to pay Fat Benny's monthly AMC extortion fees.

Someone has to do this nasty nonprofitable work though; it may as well be you.
