Compliments to The AI for doing this lengthy analysis.

" The Appraisal Institute had argued that this fee should be a required disclosure, but the CFPB favored the optional disclosure “because requiring breakouts of such charges to be disclosed in all cases may tend to produce information overload.” "

CFPB on the other hand should be ashamed of themselves! The absolutely spurious explanation for not breaking out the fees is both insulting to our intelligence; and reinforces the long held belief of the more cynical of consumers and appraisers alike that CFPB has completely capitulated in its responsibilities.

Yet one more Federal Agency (apparently) completely suborned by the very same special interests they were created to protect consumers from!

Yet one more reason appraisers need to join the national scope American Guild of Appraisers (AGA). Contact janbellas@appraisersguild.org
